We offer engineered oak flooring up to 220 mm wide and up to 2400 mm long — for a calmer look and a sense of space.

Product Explained

What is engineered oak flooring and why does it suit wide planks?

Engineered oak flooring combines the natural beauty of solid oak with the stability of a modern multi-layer construction. The top layer is made of 4 mm genuine European oak, and the core – of cross-bonded birch plywood, which greatly reduces the natural movement of the wood as temperature and humidity change.

This makes it possible to produce wide oak planks – from 90 to 220 mm that keep their shape and stability over time. You get the look and feel of traditional solid plank flooring, but with higher resilience and a lower risk of expansion, shrinkage or gaps.

Thanks to this construction, engineered oak flooring is suitable for underfloor heating and is a preferred choice both for modern homes and for spacious interiors where wide planks highlight the natural beauty of the wood.

At Artistico we make every plank to order. You choose the wood, width, length and finish, and we produce a floor tailored entirely to your project.

Choose the character of your floor

Every oak has its own natural figure, knots and texture. Whether you prefer a calmer or a more expressive look, each plank remains unique – just as nature made it. All parquet and plank floors, whatever the grade, show variations in pattern and character.

Standard oak grade — rich natural figure with pronounced knots
More character

Standard

The most natural look of oak, with clearly visible knots, figure and colour nuances. A fitting choice when you want the authentic character of real wood.

Plus oak grade — a balance of natural look and calm texture
Most popular choice

Plus

A balance between a natural look and a calm texture. Fewer knots and a quieter structure, without losing the character of the oak.

Prima oak grade — a clean selection with minimal knots
The cleanest look

Prima

The cleanest grade, with minimal knots and an even pattern. Suited to modern and minimalist interiors.

Colours and tones

From the natural colour of oak to whitewashed, smoked, hand-patinated and dark tones – we will help you choose a shade that harmonises with your interior. On request we can match a colour from a sample or a photo.

Why does engineered oak flooring stay stable?

Natural wood reacts to changes in humidity and temperature. That is why the construction of engineered flooring matters so much. The cross-bonded birch plywood core greatly reduces the natural movement of the wood, which makes wide oak planks possible, provides higher stability and makes the floor suitable for underfloor heating.

1

Protective finish

Professional Loba oils and lacquers protect the wood from everyday wear and highlight its natural beauty.

2

Top layer of natural European oak

4 mm of solid oak, which gives the floor its authentic look and allows repeated refinishing.

3

Stable multi-layer core

The cross-bonded birch plywood reduces the expansion and shrinkage of the wood and provides stability for wide planks.

4

Professional installation

Correct gluing and installation matter just as much as the flooring itself. They guarantee long-term stability and trouble-free use.

Why does this matter?

  • Allows wide planks up to 220 mm
  • Suitable for underfloor heating?
  • Reduces the risk of gaps and deformation
  • Ensures a longer life for the floor

Frequently Asked Questions

What everyone asks

We have gathered the most common questions we receive when people choose engineered oak flooring. If you cannot find yours, contact us – we will be happy to help.

Engineered oak flooring has a top layer of 4 mm natural European oak on a cross-bonded birch plywood core. Solid wood flooring is made entirely from a single piece of wood. Laminate is a synthetic covering with a printed decor — it is not real wood. For wide planks, the multi-layer construction is the most stable choice.

Yes, with correct installation and a stable indoor climate. The cross-layered construction limits the movement of the wood as temperatures change, which makes engineered flooring the recommended choice for underfloor heating — unlike a wide solid plank.

The wider a solid plank is, the higher that risk. With the multi-layer construction the movement is minimal — the cross-bonded core blocks the expansion. A correct indoor climate (40–60% humidity) and quality installation are the other two factors.

We produce engineered oak flooring in widths from 90 to 220 mm, lengths up to 2400 mm and thicknesses of 16 or 19 mm. A wider plank creates a calmer look and a sense of space, while a narrower one brings more rhythm. We will recommend the right width for the size and proportions of your room.

The 4 mm top layer of natural oak allows 3–4 full sanding cycles. In practice, the surface is renewed once every 15–25 years in a home, which means decades of use without replacing the flooring.

The price depends on the width and length of the planks, the oak grade, the colour, the finish, the installation method and the area of the project. After a short consultation you will receive an individual quote tailored to your requirements. In most cases we can give you an approximate price right after the initial conversation or from a plan you send us.

The standard production time is 3–5 weeks. For custom colours, non-standard sizes or large-scale projects it can reach 6 weeks. We confirm the exact lead time in the quote.

Yes. We have our own installation teams and work in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Bansko and in smaller towns for larger projects.

A guarantee on the construction of the plank, a guarantee on the lacquer or oil according to the Loba system, and a guarantee on the installation when carried out by our team. The exact terms are stated in the quote.

Yes. You can visit our showroom in Plovdiv or Sofia, or we can send you samples in the chosen width, grade and colour before the final decision. The final tone is always confirmed with a real sample, not from a photo.

Daily — dry cleaning or a slightly damp microfibre cloth with a product suitable for the chosen finish. With oil — periodic refreshing with Loba maintenance oil. With lacquer — a restoring coat when needed. Avoid excessive water and aggressive cleaning products.

With proper maintenance, engineered oak flooring with a 4 mm top layer lasts for decades. The possibility of 3–4 full sanding cycles means the floor can be renewed again and again instead of being replaced.
