Every square carries a diamond of three sides in different tones — the eye reads it as a cube standing up out of the floor. Around the diamond four triangles pick up the direction of the pattern. Ash gives the pale background, oak the warm middle side, walnut shades the third, and doussie closes the dark wedge. The woods shown are a suggestion: we change any of the four and the volume stays. Suited to a bedroom or a study, where the floor should be quiet but not empty.
