A diagonal frame encloses a basket-weave interlace — short boards set two by two in a cross, with triangular fields in the corners. A classical pattern which, laid out, gives an unbroken diamond grid across the whole room. Here it is entirely in oak, so the differences come only from the direction of the grain and from the way each board reflects the light. The wood is not fixed — if you want the frame to come forward, we cut it in a darker tone, and the interlace stays untouched. It goes well with high ceilings and a large area.
