Interlaced bands — two light strips interlace across a dark ground and at every repeat tie into a knot with a diamond at the centre. Walnut is the ground, oak gives the bands, ash the thin light edge between them. The corner is a separate square with a square set within a diamond. The woods here are a suggestion: change one of them and the interlace does not change. A strict motif that goes with both modern and classical interiors.
