Three large stylised roses take up the dark round field, and around them runs a wreath of twelve panels — a rose bud and a curled sprig alternate. Ash holds the light wreath and the leaves, wenge makes the dark background and all the outlines, doussie and cherry split the red into two grades, walnut closes the outer edge, and oak lights up in the spirals. The combination in the photograph is one of the possible ones — each of the six woods is swapped for another without our touching the pattern. It sits well in the middle of a spacious entrance hall or a living room.
