A fan 900 mm across: twenty-eight wedges run out from a small circle at the centre and open outwards, while the outer edge is cut in three concave arcs. Every wedge is cut on its own and fitted to the one beside it — that is where the work goes. The image shows wallnut; for a darker or a lighter reading we change the species and the shape stays the same. It goes in as an accent at the start of a hallway, under an arch, or in the middle of a large room.
