A square panel with four fan-shaped fields that meet at a common centre. Curved leaves lie over them, each with a round dot at its base — when laid, the pattern turns and the floor sets off in a large, fanning movement. The oak holds the light fans, the wenge cuts the dark curves and the dots, the walnut warms the wedges between them. The woods in the photograph are one of the possible readings — we change any of the three, and the shapes stay as they are. It works in a large living room or a foyer, where the floor has room to open out.
