A chequerboard alternation — an ornamental square next to a square of interlaced oak boards. In the ornament four curved petals gather around a small rosette, the brick-red doussie holds the frame and the contours, and wenge runs as a thin black stringer inside the leaves. Oak carries the background and the whole quiet half of the chequerboard. The combination shown is only a suggestion — we can change the dark for something softer or the red for a golden tone, and the drawing is not touched. It stands well in an entrance hall and in a dining room.
