The ornament is turned through 45 degrees and sits in an inscribed diamond — four leaves open out from a small red rosette at the centre. Oak takes the diamond and the field around it, wenge runs as a dark hair along the outline of the leaves, ash repeats the same line in cream, doussie is only in the rosette. The two stringers side by side give the depth. The woods here are a suggestion — any of the four can be changed to taste, without touching the drawing. It works well in a room with even light.
