A chequerboard arrangement: a quiet oak square, made up of four boards running to the centre, alternates with an ornamented one. The ornament is a cross of acanthus leaves on an oak ground — the curves are cherry, and the darkest leaves and the beads on them are wenge. The wenge also makes the thin frame around each ornamented square, and every curve is cut on its own and assembled by hand. All three woods can be changed to your taste — the pattern does not change. Its place is in a foyer or a hall.
