A dark square in the centre, an octagonal frame around it and light bands that separate the panel from the ones beside it. Oak holds the frame and the chamfered corners, doussie flares in the central square and in the small squares at the crossings, and ash gives the light strips. The woods in the photograph are only a suggestion; any of the three can be changed if you want a softer or a sharper contrast. Suited to studies and reception rooms, where the order of the floor is seen at once.
