Each square is laid out in four triangles, and inside them lie parallel strips at 45 degrees. The result is a quiet diagonal rhythm which, once laid, runs in both directions. The whole module is oak — what works here is not the colour but the direction of the grain: each triangle catches the light differently. Oak is a starting point, not a condition — change the wood for a lighter or a darker one and the layout stays as it is. It lies well in studies and spacious bedrooms.
