Squares with concave sides, laid out like a chessboard — every edge is an arc, which is why the field looks convex. Oak gives the light elements, walnut the dark ones, and every element is assembled from four strips, so that the direction of the grain shows. The contrast is carried by two woods only and can be made softer or sharper — the wood changes, not the form. It sits well in large open spaces.
