Each panel is an octagon set in a square — its four corners each carry an open bouquet, and a thin black scroll runs around the inner outline. Doussie holds the field with its deep red-brown tone, ash gives the light leaves and the edges, cherry glows in the pink-orange petals, and wenge draws the thin lines. The combination in the photograph is one of the possible ones — each of the four woods can be replaced with a lighter or a darker one. It works in a formal reception room or a dining room, where the floor is part of the interior.
