Beatrice Frieze

A dense acanthus scroll — large curves that flow into one another and leave no empty space in the band. Cherry gives the warm reddish ground, wenge draws the stems and the contours, ash lights up in the large leaves, doussie sets the dark red feathers between them. The four woods are only one of the possible combinations — each can be replaced, and the pattern is kept. A frieze for a formal room with enough field around it.
