An interlace of heart-shaped links that catch into one another and run unbroken along the band — hence the name. Walnut draws the interlacing and the solid strip above it, oak stays as the light ground beneath the links, and two wenge stringers close the band on the outside. At the corner the pattern turns at 45 degrees and carries on downwards without a break. The three woods are not locked — we swap any of them and the interlacing holds in the same way.
