A single strip of doussie — a dark red line, as wide as a stringer, that runs around the room and separates the laid field from the perimeter row. There is no motif and no corner piece; the band simply turns at 45 degrees in the corner. Doussie is a suggestion — the same line comes out both lighter and darker if you choose another wood, and its run stays the same. The simplest answer when the floor has to have a border, but not decoration.
