An oriental vine threaded onto a wavy stem. Oak holds the background, and on it sit wenge flowers with six petals each and dark red hearts of doussie, while between them run curved teardrop leaves and cream sickles of ash; a thin doussie strip closes the band top and bottom. Four woods and a great many small curved pieces — this is the frieze that is seen first. Any of the four can be replaced with a lighter or a darker one, and the pattern does not change.
