A calm wide band, edged with thin dark stringers, and in the corner — an acanthus turn with fine spirals and a small rosette. Cherry holds the field of the band, wenge draws the stringers and the whole corner ornament, ash lights up in the rosette at the top. The combination in the photograph is one of the possible ones — each of the three woods is changed as you choose, and the pattern stays the same. It works where the floor has to mark out a frame in a large room.
