Lucrezia Frieze

A dense classical ornament — acanthus leaves wind around oval medallions and leave no empty field. Doussie is the deep red background, oak cuts all the foliage, and ash runs as a thin light strip along both sides. The ornament is drawn so that it turns the corner rather than breaking at it. The three woods are not fixed — any one of them can give way to another, and the pattern stays.
