Yin & Yang Rosette 3

A third reading of the same pair of flowers. Here the field is oak and its rays run warm from the centre instead of pale; the walnut outlines the wide arcs, the wenge runs along them like a thin shadow, doussie holds the flames of the flowers, the ash lights up in the white petals. A light edging runs along the rim, closed with a dark thread. This is exactly the principle — the pattern is one, the woods are chosen, and any of the five can be made lighter or darker.
