A bird in flight, caught at the moment the wings spread — they run out past the thin light ring. The warm reddish field is cherry, drawn out in a fan from the centre; walnut makes the large feathers, wenge — the darkest tips, ash the body and the head, doussie outlines the edge and the beak. Every feather is a separate piece, cut on a curve. The woods are changed as you choose — a darker bird or a lighter background, the silhouette stays the same.
