An ellipse with a double wreath along the contour — light leaves alternate with deep dark-red wedges, more than ninety elements in the border alone. Inside, four acanthus scrolls gather around a central medallion outlined with a hair-thin dark line. Cherry holds the field, oak closes the rings and the core, ash draws the leaves, doussie gives the deep colour in the wedges, wenge pulls the finest contours. Not one of the five woods is compulsory — you say which one to change and the pattern takes it without alteration. It works in a formal entrance hall or under the chandelier in a dining room.
