A monogram in a circle, wrapped in filigree — hair-thin scrolls that interlace in four directions and close into a large rosette. Rust-coloured acanthus clusters sit in the four diagonals. The oak is the field, the wenge draws the lines and the letter, the doussie gives the accents, the ash is the small cartouche above the monogram. We make it to the client's own mark — and the woods are not locked: any one of them can be changed, the drawing stays as it is. Place: a foyer, a reception, an office entrance.
