Transfiguration Rosette

A square panel with petal points — four large leaves open out from the centre, and between them smaller leaves and eight thin spirals curl in towards the round core. The oak gives the light leaves, the walnut is the dark field, the outlines and the central ring. The two woods are not fixed — we change either one of them and the contrast changes, while the shape does not. It works as an accent in a room with a uniform floor.
