An oval panel with a chequered field of diamonds in the middle and baroque scrolls all around the frame. Over the board lies a cartouche with curved ends — a smooth field enclosed by acanthus leaves. Doussie holds the frame and the cartouche, ash gives the light diamonds and the fine marquetry, wenge closes the dark squares and the edges. The woods here are a suggestion — we change any of the three, the pattern stays the same. Works as the centre of a dining room or in a study.
