Simba Rosette

A figurative rosette with a lion cub at the centre — a portrait assembled from hundreds of small pieces, with whiskers and fur cut out separately. The wreath has an ash background, and the ornaments on it are merbau and walnut. The ash also holds the background behind the lion cub; the body is oak, cherry, walnut, ash and wenge. The tones in the photograph are one of the possible readings — every wood can be replaced without touching the pattern. It works in a child's room.
