Scorpion Rosette

A zodiac sign — a scorpion with its tail raised, set along the diagonal of the circle. The field is oak, cut into four sectors with different grain directions, so that the light reads it differently; walnut makes the body and the pincers, wenge shades the segments, ash lights up along the joints and in the thin ring around the field. The combination shown is a suggestion — any wood can be replaced, the figure does not change. It sits well in a hallway or as an accent in the middle of a single-tone floor.
