Uranus Rosette

Straight bands fly out from a solid circle at the centre and part into groups — the composition looks like a halted explosion. The oak is the field, doussie gives the deep red bands, cherry the lighter orange ones, wenge cuts the black ones, and the ash closes the outer ring. The combination is a suggestion; any of the woods can be replaced and the arrangement of the bands stays. It sits well in a modern interior with straight furniture and little decoration.
