Versace Rosette

A circle with the face of Medusa at the centre and a Greek meander running round the whole edge. The drawing is graphic — every curl, eyebrow and snake is a thin dark line cut into the light field. The oak holds the background and the meander, the wenge is the whole drawing. The two woods are not fixed — we can reverse the contrast or move to another pair, the lines stay the same. A piece for the middle of a room, where the floor is seen from above and the empty field around it works.
