A round rosette in three bands: an outer toothed ring of small radial pieces, a wide field with a winding vine and palmettes, and a sun disc with rays at the centre. The ash is the background and the white flowers, doussie carries the teeth, the vine and the rays, the oak draws the thin outlines, the wenge places the dark accents on the leaves. Nothing here is nailed down — every wood can be replaced if you want a lighter or a darker reading. It sits well under a chandelier, at the centre of a large room.
