A round rosette on a dark field — an unusual turn for artistic parquet. On the wenge lie white leaves, golden scrolls and four wide bands that curve towards the corner cartouches; a palmette with a diamond stands at the centre. The wenge holds the background, the ash gives the light leaves, the oak — the scrolls and the outer ring, doussie and cherry run along the red spirals. Any of the five woods can be changed — we also reverse the contrast, if you prefer a light field. It is strong in a dark living room or study.
