A Moorish star ornament — a twelve-ray rosette at the centre, a wreath of pointed leaves around it, and over everything runs an interlaced band that ties the figures into one. The ash draws the interlace and the light leaves, the cherry holds the red-brown field and the central star, the oak gives the small golden wreaths, the wenge closes the corners and the frame. The combination in the photograph is a suggestion — we change any of the woods and the interlace stays. It works as a central square in a hallway or a living room.
