A net of interlacing strips covers the inner ellipse and thickens towards the edge, while at the centre a plain oval with four tulips is left clear. Outside runs a wide belt with a winding ornament, closed between two dark rings. Walnut gives the net, the belt and the tulips alike; oak is the light field under the net; ash draws the ornament along the belt; wenge draws the rings. The combination shown is only one of the possible ones — any wood can be changed, the weave stays. A large figure — it calls for a large room.
